The existing search engines are now far less usable without pagination, and this would be the one feature that would make me consider paying for a search engine.
Pagination is far superior on a technical and usability level compared to endless scroll mechanisms.
Pagination that would allow you to skip backwards and forwards pages, jump to a specific page and if clicking back in the browser from a website access via the search engine it would take you back to the page of the search result.
Pagination would load a limited set of results at once instead of endless results on infinite scroll so also consuming less resources.
