On mobile (Chrome on Android), when clicking just to the left of the settings "cogwheel", the input field for search query text is cleared immediately.

This is very confusing since there is no visible clear button there as I there is on desktop. I would prefer (on mobile) for this clear button to only appear & function after clicking on the input text first.
