When you middle click on a thumbnail in google image search it opens in a new tab and you get buttons under the image (visit site and view image) along with related images.
I expect the related images, although super useful, might be tough to implement (?) but the visit button ought to be simple and makes life a lot easier. You can middle click a number of results to open new tabs as you search and then check them later on to visit the site. I find that this feature alone often pulls me back to google for image searches.
