When doing the same search on both duckduckgo and kagi (both in html only version), kagi is significantly slower.
Notice that DDG takes 732ms to generate the results page (1.15s to total load). On the other hand, kagi takes 1.83s to generate the results page (2.74s to total load). The cache was disabled (but since this is mainly about the time to get results, cache would not matter anyway I think).
I am located in Europe, quick check by fellow user from Europe was "new query with cache disabled, kagi takes 2-3 seconds, ddg in the lower end of 1-2s". Vlad (afaik is in US?) could not reproduce, so maybe region related?
Another observation: When just spamming searches for https://kagi.com/html/search?q=srfi-111, it seems to take mainly 950ms or 1750ms, very rarely anything else (I saw one >2s and one 1100ms).
Ideally for the search to be faster then ddg, but at least not slower.
