Chrome and Firefox stopped showing the green highlight ages ago (2018 and 2019 respectively) and Chrome doesn't even show the padlock these days.
According to Google Chrome team:
Replacing the lock icon with a neutral indicator prevents the misunderstanding that the lock icon is associated with the trustworthiness of a page, and emphasizes that security should be the default state in Chrome
According to Firefox team:
The formerly green lock icon will now become gray, with the intention of de-emphasizing the default (secure) connection state and instead putting more emphasis on broken or insecure connections.
(chrome is not showing the green big padlock since 2018)
I think Kagi shouldn't highlight in green the fact that a website is using HTTPS. This can mislead specially people with less understanding of tech, like older people.
In case the website is not using https, though, it should give a big red warning, or at least leave it like today because of the false alarms.
