Suggestions when searching from adress bar on Firefox mobile

I'm really loving Kagi so far! 👍️ However, on Firefox mobile (Android), using the extension (which works), I don't get Kagi's suggestions (but only those of Firefox, displaying search history etc.) while typing when searching from the address bar. I do get dedicated suggestions from Google if I search with Google from the address bar.

I would really appreciate 💘 having this feature very much, because otherwise I must resort to opening kagi.com for suggestions while typing, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a native extension for searching from the address bar. Having suggestions or word completion when searching from the address bar would complete the user experience.

You can set it up as an alternative search engine manually and get this, FYI. In case that helps you in the short term.

andyrew1 Thanks a lot, that's really sound advice! 😃 It had never occurred to me to look into Kagi's search engine settings in Firefox, but voilà: There is an option to set a URL for auto suggestions, which was empty in my case. As soon as I added it, it totally does what I initially asked for!

In case others run into the same question: Said URL can be found in Kagi's docs, and here's how to enable it in Firefox mobile on Android:

Vlad Well, looking at the browser extension section, for Firefox mobile on Android, it still links to an outdated guide (using nightly is not necessary any longer!). Using the Andoird app, I just installed the "normal extension" (via Add-ons), which is great and exactly what any user would expect. But it should then “just work”, but unfortunately didn't; I don't remember if I had to enter Kagi's search query URL or if/how I had to set it up, but I definitely didn't know I had to add the auto suggestion URI (hence this thread, originally). So, yes, I think replacing the outdated info with a simple “setting up the Kagi extension for Firefox mobile on Android”, including screenshots, would be a good idea. 🥰
