I searched for "Raspberry 5" today, to find out when the Pi 5 was announced.

The announcement post is tagged with a date of 2022-03-18, but the ACTUAL announcement was in 2023-09-28 (as can be seen on the page - in fact, no such date is visible there at all) and this date is 18 Months off-target.

After visiting the page, the date was corrected, but the incorrect date could not have been "right" at any point in time.

I expected the date to be the correct date of the blog post, 2023-09-28, instead of an arbitrary date 559 days earlier.

Alternatively, I'd have expected no date to be shown.

Vlad Yes it is only wrong on first search / before first visit! (and probably only for lower traffic results)

But that's the search that matters, it doesn't help if I have to "find everything twice"

Vlad reproducing the issue is as easy as searching for anything that you know a reliable date for and then looking at what Kagi displays as dates for the results.

I just came across this existing issue while considering to report the same.

As an example I searched for "FF7 Rebirth using potions" and I know for certain that the game was released in 2024, however Kagi gives me results dated 2015, 2016 and 2022
