When performing an image search, -word filters don't work as expected, or at least not the same way they work in regular search. For example, when searching for images for adidas gore tex shoes -hiking, I would expect the result to not include items that have the word hiking in them.
In my search results, 6 out of the first 8 items all have the word hiking in the page title, marked with a red cross in the below image:
In the above case, I would expect pages which have the word hiking in the page title to not appear in the results. Currently, they clog up the results and it's very hard to find what I'm looking for.
