As far as adding additional sources: with the Research Assistant available in closed beta and to Ultimate users, you can upload source file(s?) that it will use as a reference for answers if you want.

Similarly I posted this, which I think would address the issues you mention. Being able to apply your personalization to the search results would probably be helpful as far as "specifying additional sources" goes.
