Google has this very neat feature where if you search for jobs, titles and descriptions of postings will show up at the top of the page from places like LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, even websites that are not job boards.
I think this would be very useful to job seekers, and we could even go beyond and offer the option to build a job profile with preferences and saved jobs, etc. There's an opportunity here.
I think if engineered correctly it could be a powerful tool, and it would affect the search experience.
A user types "jobs" in the search bar, just like you would Google. Things like "software engineer jobs" would also trigger the behavior, just like in Google, but "software engineer" would not. (anyway an improvement is to simply have a Jobs tab"
Who would benefit?
- Amy user looking for a job
- Users looking to have a privacy oriented job profile
This feature is well implemented already by Google, see:
Simply search for "jobs" in Google.
This would of course work on top of search.
