Kreeblah It would be neat if there were mobile apps for Android and iOS for maps which could be used for route planning and navigation like Google Maps and Apple Maps are able to today. Essentially, it would allow for using this map data for the sorts of things that Apple Maps or Google Maps are typically used for by users (live directions and navigation to destinations in particular).
KagiForMe Hm, I'm sceptical about this. There are already privacy-preserving alternatives and the MVP from this isn't super high. Maintainance (iOS & ANdroid) would be a nightmare. I feel like Kagi should focus on Search first and then expand.
Galexio KagiForMe On one hand, I understand with the sentiment. On the other, and more rhetorical than anything, why even offer maps and its features on the app if it can't be implemented? Having location services would be beneficial for those who want to find a better alternative to Google maps that's a bit more robust than the open source apps out there.
AnApeNamedJoe I would absolutely love a dedicated Kagi Maps app, providing it worked with Android Auto.
Thibaultmol There is https://kagifeedback.org/d/6203-maps-mobile-app But let's keep this issue for navigation/directions specifically maybe
evyn Now is the moment for this. I moved from Google Maps to Apple Maps when de-googling. Apple Maps just got ads, and I, like many others I’m sure, are looking for an alternative. Kagi Maps needs navigation support and iOS & Android apps ASAP.
