Here are the issues I encountered with Kagi while using it:
Responsive Problems:
- On mobile, the settings menu (not the full settings) doesn't fit the width of the screen, as shown in this screenshot. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S21.
- On a laptop with a smaller screen, the homepage of the search engine can be scrolled down, and the search button is hidden under the page's footer. This issue doesn't occur on a larger screen.
Language-Related Problems:
I'm a French user, and I prefer using Kagi in my native language. However, I've encountered some language-related issues:
- The Summarizer extension defaults to English, and I couldn't find a setting to change the "default" language.
- Widgets like the weather widget only work when I type "weather" in English, not "météo" in French, so I initially thought it couldn't handle the translation.
- Some buttons, like "quick answer," are translated on mobile but not on desktop, and they don't appear in Localazy.
As a French web developer, I'd be happy to assist in my free time to address these language and web interface issues. I believe Kagi has great potential, and I plan to use it daily from now on. You can contact me at contact@elliotmoreau.fr if you'd like my assistance. Have a great day, and I hope my feedback is helpful.
