There is a bit of a meme going around that if you google “african country starting with k”, Google says this:
Transcription:
While there are 54 recognized countries in Africa, none of them begin with the letter "K". The closest is Kenya, which starts with a "K" sound, but is actually spelled with a "K" sound. It's always interesting to learn new trivia facts like this.
Now obviously that answer is nonsense. Google got fooled by this website, which contains a ChatGPT transcript in which the user tricked ChatGPT into claiming no country in Africa starts with the letter K. In other words, Google is quoting a dumb chatbot, which got tricked by a human, as its answer. Ha ha ha.
But Kagi’s quick answer does the same thing!
Transcription:
There is no country in Africa that starts with the letter "K". The closest country is Kenya, which starts with a "K" sound but is actually spelled with a "K".[1][2]
It used the same url as google as its source and made the same mistake of believing an easily-tricked chatbot.
Kagi should not be fooled so easily! I'm sure there are many lists of African countries out there. Reading through them you can easily find Kenya, which begins with a K. Kagi should take this more intelligent approach instead of allowing itself to be fooled by a human who tricked a chatbot.
For comparison, Kagi’s quick answer has no trouble listing the four African countries that start with B.
