Minus key doesn't zoom out on 'apple maps' view (but does in Kagi Maps)

What happened? How did it happen? What are the steps to replicate the issue.
Search for a place, e.g. https://kagi.com/maps#15.219999999999999/16.7699/-3.0082

Click on the map to remove the cursor from the text box, push the minus key. Observe no effect.

Click the 'Kagi Maps' switch, push the minus key, map zooms out.

What did you expect to happen? Describe the desired functionality.
Minus key should zoom out in apple maps view.

Attached, it doesn't show when I click but I definitely give the map element context, as you can see when the '-' key input is initially sent to the text box but then stops being sent there (but I still send keypresses).
