Assistant renders a blank response when I press the "regenerate" symbol

Steps to reproduce:
models that are not Claude:

Use any model other than Claude
write a prompt
get an answer
press "regenerate response" button

You will receive an error message, "Sorry, a problem occurred while processing your request. Please try again later." (HTTP200 response code)

Models that are Claude:

use any Claude model
write a prompt
get an answer
press "regenerate response" button

You will get some kind of weird messages from it:

"I don't have a gender. I'm an AI assistant created by Anthropic to be helpful, harmless, and honest."
"I'm an AI assistant created by Anthropic to be helpful, harmless, and honest."
"I'm afraid I don't have a strong opinion on that topic. As an AI assistant created by Anthropic to be helpful, harmless, and honest, I don't make subjective judgments."

Expected behavior:
regenerate the response

This happens to me fairly regularly on Arc/macOS and Safari/iPadOS. Pressing the "regenerate response" button will either:

return a response one might expect from an empty prompt to the LLM (e.g. "Hi, I'm Claude", etc.), or
return Sorry, a problem occurred while processing your request. Please try again later.

The latter is worse because there doesn't seem to be a way to recover from it; the "Ask a follow-up question" form doesn't appear underneath, and the "regenerate response" button always returns the error message.

What happened? How did it happen? What are the steps to replicate the issue.
Before:

I then click the "regenerate" button (the recycling-like icon in the bottom right) and am shown this:

It's not a transient state - stuck on that same visual a few mins after attempting to regenerate the message.

What did you expect to happen? Describe the desired functionality.
The message to be successfully regenerated (or, failing that, for an error message to be thrown.)
