Translator shows pretend translation for word it obviously does not know

Steps to reproduce:
Translate "jaywalking" to German or French. Receive "jaywalking" as result

Expected behavior:
Either an actual translation or a simple "I do not know", instead of falsely pretending the term is the same in the target language.
It's interesting, though, that Google Translate has exactly the same problem. deepl.com has at least a 99% correct translation into German (but a wrong one into French)

I mean, idk in German, cause I translated brazilian portuguese, but I opt a few times to use the original term, cause it would get reeeeally confuse if I try to put it to portuguese. Just saying
