Quick Answer follow up questions (Assistant integration)

After generating a Quick Answer in Kagi Search, add the ability to ask follow-up questions similar to "Expert" Mode in Kagi Assistant (for Ultimate members).

Sometimes I generate a quick answer and then would like to ask a follow-up based on that answer. In theory I could have gone straight to !expert to ask the question, but sometimes I think I just need a quick answer and then realize a back and forth would be helpful. Right now that means I have to copy the original question into the Research Assistant mode, re-run the original query and then ask the follow-up.

I am suggesting a way to seamlessly transition between the two in a way very similar to how "Ask Questions about Document" works on existing search results.

I wish there was a button in the "Quick Answer" UI to "continue" the conversation with an AI assistant. I say "continue" because I want the assistant to already have my query and the quick answer response as the first 2 messages.

Why?

The "short answer" gets results with similar names mixed up. The assistant will likely make the same mistake. I'd like to "continue" the conversation without having to restate everything.
It would just feel natural if you want to learn more about the topic "Short Answer" just summarized, to turn that into an AI assistant conversation.

A smoother "Quick Answer" -> "Assistant" flow would be nice.

Imagined user flow:

Searches "what is githubplus.com"
First result doesn't seem relevant, tries "Quick Answer".
That's still not what I meant. I want to be more specific about what I'm asking for. Luckily there's a "Continue conversation" button to use AI to refine my question.
The conversation already has the short answer, now I can immediately start refining what I really wanted.

(It turns out the ai assistant doesn't know either, but you get the point)

Can confirm with the recent V2 of assistant, this is a still a problem.
it re-queries it, instead of just taking the existing reply

It seems like when one decides to continue in assistant from a quick answer, the original prompt is queried again from scratch, generating an entirely different output. Perhaps it might be beneficial to simply port the existing output from quick answer into assistant so the user may continue from there, rather than waste resources querying the original prompt a second time.

The user will be able to continue the discussion in assistant with the original response from quick answer, rather than an entirely new response that gets generated.

Just thought the same myself, glad the search feature here works 😛

Often I just want to follow up with more explanation rather than start from scratch. Honestly I'd say that's the majority of the time. It could be two buttons "Continue in Assistant" which maintains context and just lets you continue with further questions, or "Ask Assistant" which refreshes the question (could be top of the page).

I like the Bing method as well, with an in-line question box that just would jump to assistant when questioned and full context.

Currently if you had your most recent model/settings set to no web access. If you press "continue in assitant" on a quick answer. you end up in Assistant with web access off... which feels....not right. considering you actively did it via search in the first place.

I think a good solution would be to allow users to type the new question directly before clicking "Continue in Assistant", so only new question is answered.
