Right now I have an iOS Shortcut set up that is available in the share sheet of URLs and simply opens the search URL for „!sum URL“.

However I think it would make sense to implement the Summarizer functionality that is available in the Desktop browser extension into the mobile app including the possibility of Model selection when using the API key. To use the functionality it should then be available from the share sheet for URLs.

Pixelstrudel When you say 'mobile app' what exactly do you mean? Can you elaborate what the ask is a bit?

Sure. I’m on iOS and talking about the app that provides the Safari Extension for Kagi.

In the Desktop browser extension I can use the summarize functionality directly from the browser itself via the extension.

On mobile there is no such option. My ask is that this feature is implemented in the mobile version as well.

Ideally I would like to not only have the Summarizer in Safari but be able to run it for any URL by having it directly in the share sheet. So I would imagine:

I open the Kagi Search app. I have an option there to set up my Universal Summarizer API token to use other models, same as on the desktop browser extension. The summarize functionality itself can then be triggered by selecting Kagi in the iOS share sheet when sharing URLs from anywhere in the system.

        Pixelstrudel Got it.

This just got suggested for implementation in Orion browser natively and this is likely where it will see the light of the day first.

The Safari extension is open source and I hope someone from community can pick this up.

Alternatively I suggest reposting this on orionfeedback.org as that team is tasked with maintaining the extensions.

Any particular reason for using Safari over Orion on iOS?

Vlad Thanks for letting me know this has already been suggested for Orion 🙂

I actually already have Orion installed and am in the process of switching over from Safari. I'm still getting used to Orion's UI for tabs and tab groups - not that it's bad or anything I'm just very much used to the way Safari works.
