Another layman here -- bumping this to ask if the default Academic lens is also subject to the 10 website limit?
I haven't checked it thoroughly, but it appears to search the entire .edu domain, researchgate.net, few select digital libraries (springer.com, nature.com, jstor.org), and the PubMed/PMC database which adds up to a lot more than 10 websites -- unless the entire .edu domain counts as one website.
If that's the case, would it be viable to update the default Academic lens / create a custom lens so that it searches through e.g.:
*.edu domain
*.ac.uk domain
*.edu.cn domain
*.ac.at domain
...and so on, up to 10 domains? Or would that get too expensive real quick too?
(Ideally it'd search through all >100.000 research institutions' websites listed in the ror.org registry -- which is what I originally meant to propose here -- but from all the lens-related threads here my understanding is that will never be tenable)
