Search suggestions must not disappear if I just keep typing what is already suggested

Steps to reproduce:
Type "ndnio". Observe that one of the suggestions is "ndnio superconductor". Type a space. It's gone. Type "ndnio sup" and it's still not there; in fact even at "ndnio superco" the only suggestion is "ndnio supercomputer".

Expected behavior:
As I type more characters, already-shown suggestions that match what I'm typing must remain visible.

Why it's important: because it takes time for suggestions to appear, so by the time I see what I want, I may have typed a couple more letters, and then it disappears just as I notice it. Backspacing is the only way to get it back!

Here's a video, I captured this on Chrome just to make sure it's not my browser, but it's the same in Firefox. The entry I was going for appears, and I point it out with the mouse. It disappears as I keep typing.

It's a similar story with the suggestions built into the browser search box - although the behaviour appears to be subtly different so I thought I'd focus on this UI first.

Steps to reproduce:
Look at the search predict:
"HID card ac" -> Gives "HID card acronym" as a possible prediction
"HID card acr" -> "HID card acronym" disappears from top few predictions
It can be a bit jarring to the user as they may expect to be able to click it as they type only for it to disappear.

Expected behavior:
Continue prediction of "HID card acronym" as it gets typed, similar to the way it works when typing "HID acronym"
