Images not being found after searching then clicking images

Steps to reproduce:
Search for an obscure query (uncommon combinations of nouns or obscure places worked well for me) and immediately click through to images.

Expected behavior:
Images to be found.

System info:
Firefox on MacOS Monterey, International region setting, connected to EUROPE-WEST.

Some Notes:
The bug doesn't seem to be reproducible if there is a delay between searching the query and clicking the images button -- when I tried to clear browser/network consoles prior to clicking I was unable to reproduce it. Attached is a video of the bug reproduced, as well as a screenshot the aforementioned consoles.
Refreshing the page fixes it and displays images properly, as shown in the video.

Way to reproduce:

go to kagi.com search homepage
search phrase that has not recently been searched (so no cached images)
quickly click the images tab once the search page loads (within first second or so)
blank page shown for several seconds, followed by "we haven't found anything" message

Interesting side notes:

if the images tab is not clicked quickly I cannot consistently reproduce
once images load successfully for a given search (after refreshing or clicking images tab again) I cannot reproduce the bug with that search term (caching?)

This is not limited to images, the same happens for videos and news. It is probably an issue with the page not being fully loaded when the button to change tabs is clicked, this is suggested by subsequent clicks of the tab button without reloads functioning correctly. This results in the selected tab view not fetching from remote as it should.

Steps to reproduce:

Go to the main page
Search for something, "seagull" in this instance
Click on search
Switch to the "Images" tab
Nothing is displayed (see image below)

Expected behavior:
I wanted images of seagulls.

System info:
Windows 10 x86_64, Vivaldi 5.1.2567.49 (Stable channel) (64-bit), server EUROPE-WEST
Also observed on Linux with Firefox and MacOS with Safari.
