Forum Lens not showing Reddit results after May 3 update

I've noticed that the Forum lens doesn't return Reddit results anymore since the May 3 update. Is this intended? I'm attaching the screenshot of a problematic sample query.

I noticed this as well. Reddit was the main service I used the forum search for, so if this was intentional, that would be disappointing, and I'll probably just go back to using site:reddit.com

(Although at the same time I've noticed that the Reddit results on the Forums lens was a bit unreliable, where it would miss some posts that appear in the main results, and sometimes ignore popular threads and instead show results from random bot subreddits, especially for political results.)

Sorry about that! We moved some indexes around and the source for this dropped without being replaced. We will be rolling out a tweak to Forums lens sometime over the next hour or so that should bring Reddit back.

We will continue to iterate on the quality of the lens from there, if there is additional feedback 🙂

How are you guys thinking about the long tail of social sites? For example, the ActivityPub constellation is picking up steam and has interesting conversations worth finding.

Of course, the Fediverse is totally allergic to algorithmic discoverability in all forms, so it’s culturally tricky.
