Spellcheck computer/widget

I don’t know about other people but I tend to use search engines to spellcheck stuff. So I thought it would be useful to have a spellcheck <word> trigger that tries to determine the language and then does a spellcheck without consuming a search

Kai Most people just type a word and they expect the search engine to spellcheckit it automatically. using a "command" to trigger this would have discoverability problems.

I mean same can be said about any command you currently have really, I don't think I know even half of them and there's no (?) way of seeing what's there and what's not.

But yeah just thought it might be somethign that can filter out some additional api calls.

Maybe you could already incorporate it in the suggestions as you start typing or something. That way it would at least get rid of the visibility issue.

Kai True but "commands" like 'translate' 'weather' 'stock' are already well known. Nobody tries
'spellcheck xyz' so the challenge is how to surface new commands and then have people accept them (most people will still just type in their misspelled word and expect search engine to automatically do everything). Autocomplete does not work as you have to start typing spellcheck to begin with.

Having said all that, the goal is clear. Perphaps allowing users to create custom widgets that create to different APIs is the way to do this.
