Kagi is my default search engine. When I search from the address bar in a private/incognito window, I get the Kagi login page as expected, since I'm not signed in there. After I log in, I'm sent to the kagi.com homepage instead of the results for my search, so I have to type the query again.
Steps to reproduce
- Open a private/incognito window.
- Search "test query" from the address bar (Kagi is the default search engine).
- The Kagi login page appears.
- Log in with email + password, then enter the 2FA code (TOTP).
Actual: I land on the kagi.com homepage and the query is lost. Reproducible every time.
Environment
- Browser: Helium (Chromium-based)
- OS: macOS 15.1
- Login method: email + password with 2FA (authenticator code) enabled
I suspect the redirect target may be lost at the 2FA step.
Kagi support confirmed by email that the query should be preserved in the URL and asked me to report it here.
Possibly related: #10376 (query lost after the session expires, with Apple SSO), and #3007 / #98, which were fixed earlier, so this may be a regression.
Expected: After logging in (including the 2FA step), I'm redirected to the results for my original query ("test query"), so the search runs right after signing in.
