Kagi slower in uk recently

I started using Kagi a few months ago (I am really enjoying it in general) and it feels like it has got a lot slower recently. Searches nearly always take over 1 second and sometimes 2 seconds. This is the time said in the text under the search bar.

I am using Firefox browser on my Android phone. However, I have noticed this elsewhere.

I live in the UK

I would expect it to be a similar speed to other search engines but this is noticeable.

I personally haven't noticed any slowdowns, but there's a new search backend in the works that'll enable detailed performance metrics so any future slowdowns should be very easy to detect, identify and fix.

That is good to hear. What kind of time for a search do you normally get?

mb

jbee-arr pretty much never over 2 seconds.

Kagi is inherently never going to be faster than the underlying search APIs. Kagi does have their own growing web index though, which they can control the speed of. Then there's also caching - if I do the same search over and over again I get results in as little as 0.44s.
