Better searches. Just... Better searches

Right now, Kagi is, overall, slightly better than other search engines.

Most often, search results will be no better - Or no different at all. Other times, they'll be noticably improved. But, for how little improvement Kagi shows over its competition, I'm skeptical of any reason to stay with Kagi other than having money to burn.

It's nice to have a slightly improved shot at a query that other engines can't find; And also to have a small reduction in the amount of irrelevant/rubbish/generated articles overall.

But it's just not enough to buy Kagi.

I don't have a feature in mind, but you don't have anywhere for general feedback - I guess because you don't want feedback?

Not a good look, to be honest.

I'm not sure what you mean. This forum your posting to is for general feedback (alongside bug reports and such), and we are very open to feedback and ways we can improve the product for our customers.

There are two visible ways to start a thread - "Report a bug", or "Suggest a feature". Perhaps I'm not seeing all the options, but the "throw everything on a bed of whitespace" design of this forum doesn't exactly make it easy to hunt them down.

(If it wasn't clear, that line was responding to the subject of the second text box, when writing a new post; The contents of both are inexplicably merged into a single comment and posted anyway. Never seen this being done before, and for good reason.)

It's true, in my experience, too. Yet, Kagi is demonstrating no evidence that it is concerned about creating and maintaining a superior search experience. "Barely better searches" is not likely to succeed as a product strategy in the long term, in my opinion.

Kagi appears to have a highly motivated and highly qualified set of employees. So, why isn't Kagi Search continuing to improve and to innovate? I hope that I am mistaken, but I fear that Kagi leadership may incorrectly believe that Kagi Search is already 'nearly perfect.' Thus, there may be little motivation to invest resources in Kagi Search beyond those needed for occasional maintenance fixes.

P.S.: The blog Why I Lost Faith in Kagi continues to remain relevant, unfortunately.

I noticed that Kagi no longer appears to make the explicit argument on its website that it delivers higher quality search results than competitors such as Google – only that it delivers “high-quality search.”

If Kagi believes that it delivers higher-quality search, then it seems reasonable to expect that the company would publicly say so to potential customers. Thus, how should the absent of this assertion by Kagi be interpreted?
