Lake Ontario showing up with incorrect name in Kagi Maps

Lake Ontario is showing with the incorrect name despite my providing geolocation information showing I'm in Canada.

Lake Ontario should be displayed for countries outside the US - or Canada at a minimum.

I did a search for Lake Ontario and you completely misspelled the name. This is very disturbing. Maps and search engines need to provide accurate and reliable information, not whatever propaganda some politician just cooked up.

Completely serious. This is a dealbreaker for me. I came to you from google specifically to avoid this nonsense. While you're considering whether or not to ignore me I'll be looking into your competitors' offerings, starting with duckduckgo and mapquest.

However, searching for 'Lake Ontario' does not bring you to the correct location as you would expect with the region and location set to Canada as the name has only changed in the US.

The correct behaviour should be to direct the user to the correct location as Kagi Maps does when a user searches for "Burma" or "Bombay" or whatever other places which have had name changes over time.

Same applies to the Gulf of Mexico.

Appearing as "Gulf of Mexico" on the map itself, searching for it only surfaces "Gulf of America".

Meanwhile, the google result (top one in the above image) has an about section that uses "Gulf of Mexico" again, according to members in the Discord that's from Wikipedia.

Me too, expected the correct names, not the propaganda names, especially if you're not in America in this case. My locale settings for my browser and PC in its entirety are set to en_GB, not en_US.

In my opinion, the name from Wikipedia must be used, if it provides an alternative to what sources like google maps or apple maps bring.
