I can't reliably replicate this issue, but it's currently happening in a tab I have open.
I'm finding increasingly inconsistent behavior when navigating to/from a window with image search results open. Right now, I have a tab containing results from a web search. When I click "Images", it brings me to results for the last search I ran beforehand.
I also frequently run into issues where using the back button or entering a new query pulls up a fullscreen preview of a single image result, even if I hadn't clicked on it before.

The "images" tab should bring me to the "Images" search results for the query currently in the box.
