Minor nitpick. Reddit recently changed their policy on visiting old.reddit.com links, for which you now need to be logged in to view them.
Documentation on link rewrite rules uses this as the canonical example to show the usefulness of the feature (which is indeed very useful).

I think this is now a bad example, as with this reddit change, the suggestion is now to basically rewrite a working link (reddit.com) to a (unless you have an account) broken link (old.reddit.com).
I want the first suggestion to be a valid one.
I think a good candidate for link rewriting now might be https://x.com -> https://xcancel.com ?
