Is kagi responsible for unwanted launches of Gemini? If so, make it stop.

I am trying to determine what is causing my Mac to repeatedly launch Gemini without my consent. My best guess so far is that Kagi is doing it.
I often look at the list of running apps, and Gemini is there, even though I didn't ask for it and it is not on my list of apps to launch at login. I have to manually quit it.
IMO this is very user-unfriendly behavior.
If this is your doing, how do I make it stop?

If Kagi wants to launch Gemini, it should ask me.

GRobLewis That’s a very odd issue. I’m not sure I understand what you're reporting, Kagi has nothing to do with Gemini.

Are you saying that when you use Kagi Search in your browser, another tab opens with Gemini?

Not saying that. Just that often when I look at the list of running apps (via Cmd-Tab), Gemini is there even though I haven't asked for it.
Like, for example, RIGHT NOW.

One of the things is an auto updater.

Kagi isn't launching Gemini on your laptop and afaik there's no way they could do that either through a web browser.
