Assistant microphone not working on /e/OS

Nothing happens when I press the microphone button in Kagi Assistant for Android. I've enabled microphone access in Android setting and tried force-closing the app.

I'm using /e/OS so afaik it doesn't have Google speech-to-text, in case that's being used. It seems it's not working on GrapheneOS either, but works in Waydroid with "gapps".

I have both the /e/OS built-in, and FUTO's, voice recognizers and I think they should work with any app using standard Android APIs.

I'd expect the microphone button to work or to show an error message.

Reports with an image or video get fixed faster.

Is it possible to fall back to other on-device voice recognizers? E.g. FUTO Voice Input lists this: It integrates with apps and keyboards that support the standard Android voice input APIs (ACTION_RECOGNIZE_SPEECH and Voice IME)

It seems there are plenty of speech-to-text models available online, perhaps some of those could be offered as well?
