RHvdG personally I don't like the typical "breaking" news. I had essentially stopped reading news before I discovered Kagi News, as I realised that news doesn't affect my life in any considerable way, and it's consuming a fair share of my time here on earth, and a lot of my attention and focus. We had some changes to the bus lines here recently, that's about it for relevant news this year.
It's not technically impossible to implement "breaking" stories, but it's a legal gray area. "Breaking" stories seem to be a bit off limit, i.e. if the reader wants breaking stories they need to go to the source, e.g. The Guardian. The question is, in this digital age, if the Kagi News AI checks some major news feeds once per hour, and sends a breaking news notification if it finds the same story mentioned by 10 sources, and it's been at least 1 hour since it's been published, would that be fair, especially since they're in the RSS feeds and the publisher can opt to not put them there? Another option would be to make a deal with e.g. Reuters, that they give Kagi permission to publish their breaking stories, perhaps after being able to construct neutral articles based on many different sources.
