It's getting really disappointing. I upgraded to ultimate for a short period of time, enjoyed the models enough but didn't really need it and do not use LLMs enough to justify the significant price increase. Unfortunately, Pro's model choice is just weird now. While Gemma is fine (I run it locally on my desktop every once and a while) and I honestly have just started using OpenRouter for anything that needs a 'better' model, I'd still like to have some current "mid tier" models that I can use my credits on for just general stuff.
I don't see the need in more models for Pro but Kagi's team really should spend time refining the model choice, less can be more if you consolidate and replace some of the outdated models with newer ones.
The wild thing is, as previously stated, I really don't even use LLMs that much. I threw in $15 to openrouter a few months ago and still have like $10 left. But it does feel bad going to the assistant UI and just seeing oh great, there's less models now and most of them are pretty out of date.
I hope this is addressed in some form, I get that there's going to be weird/hard lines to draw and not everyone can be happy (which is why other services exist for people who just want to access a model and chat with it 🙂 ) but it just feels like it's been entirely overlooked for Pro users for the past several months, other than models being removed.
