Cannot Login Kagi Assistant 1.0.4 on iOS

I cannot login to the new Kagi Assistant App for iOS. My login and 2FA code are accepted, but I just see the main Kagi.com search page with a purple X in the top-right corner. Tapping the "X" closes the window but my login does not transfer to the app. I have tried using the login link on the in the sidebar and in Settings. Same result.

iPhone 16 Pro / iOS 26.6

I expect the webview from the login to disappear automatically and the login in the app to complete. Or perhaps after tapping the X, though that’s also counter-intuitive.

Hello. Sorry about the inconvenience here. Just to confirm: are you using sign in with Apple?

@hirsheykiss Unable to reproduce on my end. I am able to login with 2FA as well. Does the issue still exist for you?

Yes, I still have the issue. What behavior should I expect? Currently, after the 2FA code is entered the page refreshes and I see the main Kagi.com search page (see screenshot above).

I am having the same issue, unable to login and have the app itself store my login details on iOS (iphone 15, 26.5.2).

The loop goes like this:

1) Open Kagi Assistant
2) Click login
3) In app browser opens up, asking for login details
4) Successful login
5) Kagi assistant webpage is available with X in upper right
6) Click X, back to kagi assistant app splash page with forgotten login details

hall0ween For point 5, do you see the kagi.com homepage after the successful login or the Kagi assistant page? A screenshot/screen recording would help. Could you also wait 20-30 seconds on the in app browser page after you have logged in? You might be pressing X too quickly (I'm just guessing here).

+1 here. Running iOS 26.6 on iPhone 15 Pro. Tried many times over the past day with as many tweaks as I can think of to my setup.

Repro steps:

Click Login
Enter username / password (tried both autofill with password manager and manual typing)
Click Continue - takes me to 2FA page
Enter 2FA code
Click Continue
Takes me to Kagi.com logged in, but that’s it.

The modal window doesn’t seem to communicate back with app to pass on success. Tried waiting 30+ seconds, as suggested, but nothing happens. Clicking the X at the top right just takes me back to the not-logged-in app.

Hope this feedback helps. I’d love to use this with my account and it’d be great to be able to log in!

chrisjd Thanks for the detailed steps. I haven't been able to reproduce on my end still but will try some more. Sorry about the inconvenience, hopefully the next update should fix this.
