A native IOS shortcut support for Kagi Assistant would be able to at least support launching the query within Kagi Assistant app instead of as a webpage. user interactions with an app is different from with a webpage, which is limited to the search bar to trigger Kagi Assistant, unless bangs are extended to perform specific actions (e.g., search existing conversations ā temp + permanent, add attachments)
List of possible shortcut actions as a start:
- Launch query (with the ability to select custom assistants or down to specific models, and provide attachments).
- Search conversations
- Launch a selected conversation
Currently Iām running a IOS shortcut which I can type a query, followed by menu which will then prepend the corresponding bangs based on the options supported, and launches a web search based on the combined text. Since bangs are used, Kagi Assistant or Translate or Search can be triggered accordingly and the corresponding webpage will load.
Using shortcuts, the user can create context-aware automations e.g. a query about a topic on a specific web article can have the web link auto-added to the query, submit through shortcuts, launch Kagi Assistant with the specific query, or another example will be asking a question about a pdf which could be appended to the query through the shortcut.
Searching would be a new experience on top of just querying. This would help users to dig through past permanent conversations that had the knowledge they require without sending another query and consume credits.
