Kagi Assistant Quick Model always gets timezone wrong

I live in Japan. I noticed that the timezone is always wrong when I ask a question using the quick model.
Simply asking "What day is it" gives the previous day (based on UTC probably)
I added "Always assume the user is in Japan (JST, UTC+9) unless otherwise stated. When referencing dates and times, convert to JST." as a custom instruction to the assistant settings and this did NOT resolve the issue:
Settings → Assistant → Custom Instructions

I have not tested with other models or made a custom assistant to fix it.

The Assistant setting should force the timezone to return the correct date and time when prompted AND/OR the system date/time should be correctly pulled from my system when the question is asked.
My screenshots show the previous day. I posted this on July 29th 2026

The system prompt says "The current date is 2026-07-31 (Jul 31, 2026). Your behaviour should reflect this.". Perhaps the assistant should also know the time and time zone for the statement?
