UX Change?

Suddenly seeing a Settings icon instead of the Shield, a '+' button instead of three vertical dots, and a very dim gray "Summarize" on every search result.

Is this a beta test in progress or am I seeing things?

Especially wondering about 'Summarize' as the discussion roils around changes to plans like Professional where some features will be removed or charged separately.

Hey!
An update was pushed out early to solve some annoying issues, so everything you see is very much intended.
The update announcement and changelog should be out on Monday.

The “Summarize” link is not in a dimmer colour for me, at least not perceptively. I’d love to be able to opt out as it’s making search results noisier which is exactly why I moved to Kagi in the first place Summarize

It's unfortunate how this was pushed out without any warning or release notes. The new icons are a net downgrade in user experience, they're too big and distracting. Please consider alternatives such as:

Smaller '+' icon.
Revert to old icon.
Provide users an option to choose their UX.

This is a very disappointing change.

Oh thank god, the "Summarize" on every search result was driving me NUTS! I looked everywhere in Kagi settings to disable this, but didn't find anything. I then clicked onto literally every settings category and did a "command+f" for "summ" in each settings page, but still didn't find anything! Search results directed me to this page where I can finally disable the damn thing.

Why would this setting not be in settings?

Also this goes directly against Kagi's AI Integration Philosophy: "AI is opt-in and on-demand."

I also tried to find the toggle in Settings, not on the search tools panel.

I also find the full "Summarize" word on every search snippet to be a little excessive. I don't have AI features off, but I'd still prefer having access to this from the + menu dropdown, maybe, instead of it being proactively shown on every result.

Lots of changes coming to Kagi including things like this for no reason. Hope this is not a sign that the company is drifting away from what set it apart.

Can we have an option to revert the sliders icon to the shield please, as mentioned by efir? The sliders don't represent the function of the button as accurately as the shield (although it's not necessarily the best option)

<sub>And while we're at it a setting to fix the new favicons would be nice too, as the old ones were much easier to understand</sub>
