The date range text within the Time drop-down menu should be grey, not black, upon first sight. This applies to the drop-down both under the All/Web Search and News categories. See the below screen recording for reference.
The black text suggests that that date range is implemented for that particular search, whereas grey text would suggest provisionality/inputability. It is worth noting that the black text actually switches to grey text when one hovers over it with one's mouse (on mobile, on the other hand, the date range text boxes are simply blank — I use an iPhone SE 3 running on iOS 26.5.2).
