Safari extension does not use private session link

I installed the safari extension, signed in and then placed my private session link in the input box. After opening a new private window and typing a search query in the address bar, the kagi search session that appears is not private (no lock icon, still regular session seemingly).

With no privacy pass on safari, I was hoping this was the workaround but it does not seem to work.

Machine: Macbook Pro M1 Pro
OS: 26.5.2 (25F84)

Expected Safari new private windows to open search queries in a private Kagi session, instead private windows open in regular session.

alexbeng the session link will bring you to your regular session. Kagi doesn't save your results, but for truly private searches you need the Privacy Pass extension activated.

I was under the impression that the session link opens a private session! Sadly there is no Safari Privacy Pass Extension.

alexbeng well, there's Kagi's Orion browser, which is built on WebKit just like Safari.
