Hourglass design is bad

hello Kagi Team - can we make it more obvious - by good design - if a thread status is temporary or permanent?

the current hour glass "design" sucks - it takes too much time to look at, it's not clearly visible of temporary or not and the hour glass design doesn't help much (there is not much visual difference between the two different status designs and it's also not logical)

please come up with a better design - something clearly obvious so someone like me doesn't have to struggle every time if a thread is marked as permanent or not.
i have lost too many threads by now simply because it wasn't clearly visible that it was marked as temporary.

The dotted hourglass looks like an hourglass thats disappearing giving you the suggestion that its a temporary thread but its the opposite

Hey all! We recently updated the icons. Permanent (non-temporary) states are now represented with a solid gray stroke (no bg), while temporary threads are in color, half-filled, with a background. We also added a small animation (rotating/flipping of the hourglass) when you toggle between the two.

Let us know how these changes look and whether we achieved a clearer distinction between the permanent and temporary states. Thank you!

thank you Marija - the design change is better than before, it is an improvement.
my monkey brain however still associates an hourglass with "fleeting" - doesn't matter if it is a filled or empty hourglass. still takes unnecessary cognitive load.

why not use the hourglass for fleeting and disappearing notes
and for permanent notes: design and use a pin icon, or a lock icon, or a bookmark icon?
simple as that! 🙂

My wife and I just subscribed, and we both lost AI chats because we were confused about the currently selected mode. We both created AI chats assuming we were in permanent mode when in fact, we were in temporary mode.

Currently, the interface doesn't teach the meaning of the hourglass icon (at least in context). When I mouseover it, the icon reveals itself to be a button such as "Mark as temporary" or "Mark as permanent". I'm forced to do reverse thinking to figure out the current state of the thread.

It would be nice to have a way to verify the state of the thread, maybe as a mouseover or some text that reads "temporary thread" or "permanent thread" at the start of each thread.

I'm sure this isn't much of a problem for experienced users, but for new users like us, it's been a stumbling block.
