What happened?
Starting with iOS/iPadOS 26.x, I've noticed a real performance lag of Safari on iOS doing a generic load of a web page. It is as if the page simply STALLS for anywhere from 3-7 seconds on my iPad Air M3 or my iPhone 15 Pro Max before the browser starts loading the web page.
How did it happen?
I'm not sure exactly. Everything was fine in iOS 18 and prior.
Steps to replicate this issue
Hmmm. Not sure beyond installing the Kagi for Safari extension and watching the lag happen.
What did you expect to happen?
For Kagi searches and page loads to be snappy in Safari.
Describe the desired functionality
For Kagi searches and page loads to be snappy in Safari.
Workaround Note
I've been able to discover a partial workaround by changing the default to a single search engine (Google) which is the default search engine in Safari. That seems to speed things up to ALMOST back to normal BUT I'd really like have this issue be investigated and fixed since I prefer Safari at this time.
Note
Maybe this is me tilting at windmills because the engineering team is 100% on Orion on all platforms BUT I still prefer Safari and I'd like the extension fixed. Thank you.
