After posting a suggestion that people check out Kagi, a user on Mastodon tells me that the Amazon search results for headphones have an affiliate code and points out this is marketing income that undercuts your subscription-driven incentive structure.

@mpm I was very excited to use Kagi, but it appears the site is driven by affiliate marketing income. A slightly different form of advertising. Searching for the best headphones, the results lead with those carried by Amazon and used the same affiliate code. Bummer.

If you are going to inject an affiliate code, be transparent about it.
