After a productive conversation with the Research assistant, I asked it to consolidate its findings into a stand alone PDF. It could not. Watching the thinking trace, I saw it flailing badly. It invoked an image generation skill which wasn't relevant. It tried to use python, but didn't have a relevant library. It tried to install a releavant library (reportlab) and that failed. So it tried the install again, which also failed. Then it wrote out the code to generate a PDF with the library it failed to install... and that program obviously failed.
I wound up terminating the turn and rephrasing my request to avoid the need for a PDF.
I expected to get a nicely rendered PDF with the relevant content.
