Emptying query and clicking on news will search news with the previous query. When news are selected, emptying query and clicking search will state that the field is required.
So for now, going to the general news page requires going to the homepage, clicking advanced and clicking news, making it almost undiscoverable for most users, as normal web search and image search simply switch the category there instead of going to their own specific sites (as they do not have one).
