The file type upload restrictions introduced with the new assistant are heavily restrictive and should be lifted again. E.g. as a bioinformatician I work with a plethora of different file types that are not found anywhere in the list of allowed extensions (see screenshot). However, these files are totally valid data resources for any LLM. This is an issue that is not limited to my discipline, as there are countless perfectly valid file types that are currently excluded. I don't think there should be a restriction in the first place.
