There should be a alternative low pricing tier without AI and more searches.

As someone who does not use AI and will not use AI. It feels like I'm paying extra for a service I don't even use. And 300 searches for 5 USD a month feels very restrictive when free search engines exist, it would be nice if you could either use your 'AI assistant interaction' as tokens for searches instead.
Or get a separate 'No AI' plan that gives you more searches for the same 5 USD price point.

The short answer though is that Kagi's prices have remained the same, even before AI was included, as a free optional feature. Our pricing is solely based off the price of search and not the price of AI - it was set long before those things reached mass market (>3 years ago). Operating search in the way that Kagi does is not cheap, but we stand behind the value you get, with the quality of our search and all other bundled features.

While alternate pricing changes are not out of the question to accommodate customers in 2026 and beyond, we have no committed plans to do so yet.
