Often, it takes over ten seconds to start generating the “quick” answer which entirely defeats the point – I’ve already skimmed the top hits by that time. It’s frustrating.
Additionally, these new responses often exhibit chatbot-isms that I would like to avoid, like directly addressing me or my emotions, or ending the response with a “would you like me to …?” type of hook question.
I hope that this change will be reversed.
