Kagi Translate currently requires a stable internet connection to function. This feature request is for two things — first, optimizing the app for weak/unstable networks (2G, fluctuating mobile data), and second, adding a full offline mode with downloadable language packs so users can translate without any internet connection.
Currently, on unstable networks the app fails to translate, breaking the user's workflow. With offline support, users can translate anytime — while travelling, in remote areas, or during network outages — without any interruption. It makes Kagi Translate a complete, reliable tool rather than a network-dependent one.
A user travelling in a remote area with no internet can download Hindi or French language pack beforehand and translate offline. A user in India on unstable 2G/4G network can still use the app smoothly. Google Translate implements this via downloadable language packs in Settings. Users download the pack once on WiFi and use it anytime offline.
