Use online text-to-speech in Kagi Translate apps

Currently the Kagi Translate app for Android is using the device's TTS. On my device the TTS is very limited and can't read most things.

I suggest that an online TTS is made available, like for the web app.

I find TTS useful when communicating face-to-face with people who don't speak English, so it's an important feature to me.

Emu7037 ~~I installed SherpaTTS now, but it tries to read everything with an English voice 🤷~~

Seems it was because I had English as target language in Kagi Translate (somehow it was reversed). But, the setup wasn't pain-free, and the list of supported languages is still limited. TTS apps are a jungle.

The Translate TTS fails miserably, it sounds like its reading the translated text in english, with other latin alphabet languages. With chinese it just makes a single noise (probably trying to say the first character).
It seems to do this with every tested language.

Simply write some text from any language towards any non-english language, and press the "speaker" icon to have the app read it out loud.

I think it stems from the AI or whatever is running using english everywhere.

For the record I am on graphene OS, so maybe if you guys are using android libraries for TTS these might be missing?

It should speak in the destination language. Maybe voice packs should be an optional download?

KonanHuet it's currently using the TTS that's built into your phone.

When I use the kagi translate website to speak armenian text, it does so effortlessly. However, on the kagi translate app, it is unable to do so. I noticed the app just uses Apple's system voice-to-text, which doesn't support Armenian. Is there a policy restriction from Apple that prevents you from using your own text-to-speech voices in the app?
