Many Problems with new Assistant UI

I am having many problems with the new assistant UI:

newer models gone, opus 4.7, gemini 3.1 flash lite and pro, kimi k2.6, glm 5.1, grok 4.20, gpt 5.4, minimax 2.7 etc are all gone, the model list is like what it was a couple months ago
bangs don't work, my different bangs for custom assistants, and the builtin ones like !code !ki etc don't work, it just opens the assistant page, doesn't open a new chat with that model and the text given to the bang
UI no longer shows temporary icon for chats, so I'm not sure how to remove it if I don't want a chat to be temporary
Ctrl+k shortcut for new thread doesn't work
sometimes takes quite a long time to load thread or the assistant UI
the UI no longer shows which model was used to generate a response
in the research agent, the create/update plan steps aren't collapsed properly, the diff is always shown

it looks like kagi rolled back the update when I was part way through typing this out. I'm back on the old assistant UI and everything is working normally again, but I thought I'd submit anyways in case you're not aware of all those issues with the new UI

Hey thank you for taking the time to do a write up! As you noticed, this was an internal build that got accidentally released. We're polishing up the experience still and we'll definitely address the points you made

most interesting thing in there was an experimental Orchestrator assistant, that says it splits things into subtasks that it searches in parallel. seemed kind of like the research assistant except I think burning more tokens for a potentially better answer.

I'm running into issues with the Assistant as well. (Biggest being I can't use dark mode 😛 )

Is there a way to go back to the old interface while the new UI is still cooking? I can't seem to find the option anywhere.

EDIT: I also noticed the asking follow up questions doesn't work. It just sends you to a 404.

Biggest issue for me right now is that I switched to the new UI and it apparently is not an option that persists for an entire account but for a single session only, so as soon as I had to re-login to my account, all my assistant threads disappeared and reverted to the state it was when I performed the switch to the new UI without being offered the option to switch back to the new UI again.
